Flying Adventure: Indian Ocean Coast – Day 15 (FAPY – FAWB):

It is time to return to base with a scenic flight over the greater Johannesburg to Pretoria. The constraints of reality do not permit a further extension of this tour.

It is another beautiful day and we are looking forward to our last leg as we drive out to the airfield after breakfast.

We take off in a north easterly direction and set course for Soweto. From the Orlando Power Station, or the Soweto Towers as they are sometimes called, we route past the Calabash Soccer Stadium and the Johannesburg CBD.

From the western suburbs the VFR corridor passes the financial hub of Sandton and past the Kayalami Race Track before we reach Pretoria.

And this brings our trip to some amazing places on the Indian Ocean coastline to a close. As he mentioned when we departed, this was an unplanned tour, i.e. we did not exactly know where we would be going. The map below depicts where we ended up being over the past two weeks.

This trip, just like any other, inspired some new ideas. New ideas for the next flying adventure, pre-planned or unplanned, to somewhere out there in Africa. Keep following.
