8 April 2018 – Leshiba to Mashatu Game Reserve

Flying Adventure: Around South Africa – Day 10 (FALeshe – FAPP – FBLV):

Time to leave Leshiba Wilderness to Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana. We depart from Leshiba after the clouds in the valley have lifted enough for a safe flight out. We then route in a south westerly direction to Polokwane International airport for re-fueling and South African border clearance.

From Polokwane we set course straight up north to Limpopo Valley airfield. Limpopo Valley is situated just over the border in Botswana and adjacent to the Mashatu and Tuli private game reserve.

Border clearing into Botswana at Pont Drift border post is fast and hassle free. We are soon off to Mashatu Tented Camp, arriving right in time to settle in, relax and go for a sundowner game drive.

Mashatu is less well known than Kruger National Park in South Africa. But it offers an exceptional wildlife experience. If wildlife is what you are after, then Mashatu is your place, and you should seriously consider a visit. N3 Aviation is always happy to fly you up there. It’s a short and convenient trip from Gauteng, even for a long weekend away.

For the rest of this day we enjoy a delicious dinner and a couple cold beers to close out the last evening of the tour.
