Flying Adventure: Mpumalanga – Day 1 (FAWB – FAHT – FAGraskp):

This is a short flying tour from Pretoria out to the escarpment in Mpumalanga for some proper fun flying.

We depart from Wonderboom airport and first head out to Groblersdal. Groblersdal is a nice airstrip for a few touch and goes and warm up.

After a refresher stop we proceed out to the escarpment into the lowveld. On the way we add in touch and goes at Pidwa, Lillie’s and Klaserie camps, before we stop at Hoedspruit Civil for a (soft) drink and a snack.

From Hoedspruit we fly over the always impressive Blyde River Canyon and then along the escarpment to Graskop where we stay over for the night.

The Summit Lodge at Graskop is highly recommended for both its hospitality and certainly for the best local pub in town, and likely the larger area.
