Flying Adventure: Namibia Tour – Day 11 (FYMO – FYBG):
Mokuti Lodge had fuel at their airstrip. We therefore decided to fill up our tanks before departure. This saves us a stop at Rundu and allows us to fly straight to the Caprivi strip, our destination for today.

After landing at the Banagi airstrip, we call our transfer whilst parking and tying-down the aircraft. We then proceed to the Mahangu Safari Lodge right on the banks of the Okavango river. It is a really hot day in an already hot place. A cold Windhoek draught was much appreciated to refresh and re-hydrate.

Further downstream, the Okavango river enters into Botswana and opens up into the panhandle of the famous Okavango Delta. Upstream from Mahangu are the Popa Falls. The Popa Falls are not strictly falls, but rather a series of rapids.
In the late afternoon we embark on a river cruise and enjoy a fantastic dinner on the cruise boat. He did not have high expectations from the Caprivi strip, as it is generally a dry and dull place. But the sunset cruise and wildlife sightings along the Okavango turned into an exciting and enjoyable surprise.

Tomorrow we will proceed to the last highlight of this tour. The Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
